The La Feria community gathered at the football stadium parking lot on Tuesday, November 14, starting at 4pm and lasting until 8pm to celebrate the La Feria Lion’s 30-9 victory over the La Grulla Gators allowing them to move on to the playoffs this season.
There was the traditional burning of the LF, as well as performances from the La Feria HS Band, Goldstars and Cheerleaders.
The community brought out charcoal pits, food, drinks, tables and chairs and joined in on the celebration that boasted a most spirited Lion fan and tailgate area contest with prizes awarded.
Colleges and organizations like the Border Patrol were present with information tables and representatives, as well.
The La Feria Lions would face the Rockport-Fulton Pirates in the Conference 4A Bi-District Championship Friday, November 17th, at Lions Stadium only to narrowly lose 19-14. What an incredible end to another great season of Lions Football. ROLL PRIDE!
