22nd Annual Adrian Dominguez Scholarship Walk/Races Set for March 31st

The Adrian Dominguez Scholarship Race/Walk/Dash returns to La Feria on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the Veterans Memorial Park Sports Complex located on Pancho Maples Drive in La Feria, Texas.
Returning for its 22nd year, all registered participants will receive a commemorative race t-shirt. Fruit, juice, soft drinks and bottled water will be provided. Prizes will be raffled off on the day of the race.
Medals will be awarded to the top female/male 5K run and 1 Mile Walk participants in all age categories.
Trophies will be awarded to the top male and female runners as well as a trophy for the school with the most runners. This year there is a category for everyone, regardless of age! The categories are 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+!
Net proceeds from the race will fund scholarships for students from La Feria High School. Donations are also gladly accepted.
The race was first established in 1996 by the Dominguez family in honor of their son, Adrian, who was bound by a wheelchair. It is now the longest-established five kilometer race in the Rio Grande Valley.
The event benefits the Los Diez Education Foundation, which awards scholarships to area students.
Applications for the race are available at the La Feria News offices at 102 S. Main Street in La Feria .
The entry fee for the race is $15 prior to the race and $20 on the day of the race. The Kid’s Race starts at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K starts at 8:30 a.m. Registration on the day of the race will be from 6:45 a.m. to 7:45 a.m.
