2013 La Feria Independence Day Celebration Slated for Saturday, June 29 1-10 p.m.

The City of La Feria Events Committee has set the date for the annual La Feria Independence Day Celebration for Saturday, June 29 from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m.

This family event, held at the Veteran’s Memorial Sports Complex, is a patriotic event which recognizes our local military veterans and offers a fun day of food and entertainment for every age. There are also raffles for the veterans and the public and freebies for the children.

The “Smokin Heroes’ Bar-B-Q- Cook Off” will start early that morning with pay out categories for brisket, pork spare ribs and chicken. Jackpots will be held for fajitas, pan de campo and beans. The day will continue with fun inflatables for the kids, food and merchandise vendors and live music. A pet show is planned for youngsters 10-15 and a coloring contest for the 4-9 year olds this year so stay turned for more details.
Spectacular fireworks will conclude the event.
