La Feria – La Feria has had much success the past three seasons, including back-to-back district titles. The team chemistry ran high last year as it propelled them into the second round of the playoffs before dropping a heartbreaker to Somerset in five sets.

The concept is the same as the Lionettes look to find their game and make another postseason run. This season, the Lionettes are set to return ten seniors who all have playoff experience and have a deep chemistry with one another.

After graduating seven seniors, La Feria Head Coach Rebea Fraga is humbled that the team will be in good shape.

When asked how the team will adapt to filling in spots in the lineup, Fraga says they’ll fill in just fine.

“There’s a lot of hungry seniors who are ready to step up and ready to get their opportunity,” Fraga says, “It’s not something new to them. It’s just transitioning into being a starter.”

Among the group of seniors is three-year letterman and multi-sport athlete Karina Diaz. Like many seniors, Diaz looks to leave her mark and help the Lionettes gain another district title.

“We got to continue to work, and I feel like we’ll be able to dominate,” Diaz says.

“Our plan is to go to the third round, which is something we didn’t do last season. So, now that’s our goal, and while we’re there, we want to make history.”
