Devin Rey Martinez

My name is Devin Rey Martinez, I am 26 years old from the City of La Feria. I am a 2010 top 3 graduate of LFHS.  I was a student athlete, member of the Mighty Lion Marching Band, Fellowship of Christian Athletes; officer of the National Honor Society.  One of the greatest honors that I experienced as a high school student was participating in community service throughout La Feria. Serving others is a value and responsibility instilled by my family at a young age.

I pursued my college education at Texas A&M University in College Station; transferred to the former University of Texas Pan American, and earned my Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with Cum Laude Honors. As a student at UTPA, I was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity where I was blessed to serve the greater Rio Grande Valley community with over 250 hours of service, through numerous civic events and activities. I worked my way through college to pay for expenses. I have worked in retail, food industry, and as a banker.  My experiences helped shape and further engrain in me the need to be respectful of people, and always find a way to help others.

I am currently a Chemistry educator with the Los Fresnos Consolidated Independent School District. I contribute my time and service, to those in need, as a volunteer at the Valley Baptist Health Center. This experience has in part, reignited a desire in me to pursue my dream of changing lives by seeking a career as a Physician Assistant. . I will earn the privilege that will one day allow me to give back to our medically underserved citizens in the Rio Grande Valley, including my very own hometown.
