La Feria Lion Cheerleaders to Hold 37th Annual Mini-Camp

The La Feria High School Cheerleaders will be sponsoring the 37th Annual Cheerleading Mini-Camp from Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14, 2013. The little cheerleaders will attend the Mini-Camp daily from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the La Feria High School Main Gym. The cost per child is $40 and includes a Mini-Camp T-shirt. Participants must be at least 4 years of age or older.

Participants will be divided into four groups. The Pre-Beginner group will include all four-year old participants and the younger 5 year olds. The Beginner group will consist of little girls who are 5 ½ years old and all six year-old cheerleaders. Seven and eight year old cheerleaders will be part of the Intermediate group and all participants nine years and older will make up the Advanced group. Each group will learn a cheer, sideline chant, and a dance.

A recital program will highlight the little cheerleaders’ accomplishments on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. Each participant will receive recognition of their participation as a Lion mini-camp cheerleader. Spirit Stick awards will be presented throughout the week-long camp. Special awards will be presented at all levels at the Friday performance. Family and friends are invited to attend the recital program which will be held in the LFHS gym.

Pre-registration will be held on Wednesday, May 29, and Thursday, May 30, in the Lobby of the High School Main Gym from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. The final pre-registration will be held Wednesday, June 5, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Pre-registration is very important as this is the time to pre-order the correct shirt size for your child.

Late registrations will still be accepted on the first day of camp but participants may not receive the correct T-shirt size as shirts must be ordered beforehand. Anyone needing more information may contact Susana Villalón by calling the La Feria High School office at 797-8370.
