La Feria Chamber Members Learn About Insurance
- Updated: March 18, 2013
Members of the newly formed La Feria Chamber of Commerce held their regular monthly meeting Monday, March 11 at 11 a.m.
After a short business session to approve the chamber logo and motto, State Farm Agent John Ftacek discussed how to protect your business from natural disasters and public liabilities. He also mentioned auto policy packages for vehicles used in the operation of the business.
“Claim time is when we shine,” said Ftacek. He added that with his local service, claims are handled in person rather than an “800” number…price isn’t everything.
The chamber also received “Shop La Feria First” t-shirts from the city and will add the new chamber logo. These shirts will be given to new members and will also be used at special events.
Charter members of the chamber currently are Basic Storage, TC Lawn Service, The Hair Shoppe, Little Lions Learning Center, State Farm Insurance, La Feria News, El Centro, J&M Used Furniture, Roxanne’s Interiors, ProuD Printing, La Feria Laundry, The Neighborhood Doctor, La Feria Vision Center, GWA Laundry, Professional Medical Supplies DME, Paraiso and Jilpas Villarreal Attorney at Law. A membership drive is underway. Please call Tabitha at 797-2261 to join the chamber.
The chamber meets every second Monday of the month at 11 a.m. at the fire station. The next meeting is Monday, April 8 at 11 a.m.
A Chamber Mixer is planned on Thursday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m. at Compass Bank in La Feria. All interested persons are encouraged to come and find out more about becoming a member.
