Santa Rosa Celebrates Christmas with City Parade
- Updated: January 3, 2014

The City of Santa Rosa celebrated Christmas with a parade on the evening of Saturday, December 21st. Citizens gathered more than an hour before the festivities to make sure that they got a great spot to view the procession. Their patience was rewarded when the Santa Rosa High School cheerleaders and band kicked off the parade promptly at 6 p.m.
The parade was made up of several floats, the 4-H club, the 2013 Santa Rosa high school homecoming king and queen, and there were a few vehicles with local campaigning politicians.
The parade route began south of the intersection of FM 506 and 107 and ended just north of the high school. A highlight of the parade was the large number of horses that marched through town as several local riding clubs joined the parade. Riders of all ages participated.
The parade finale featured St. Nicolas himself, riding in the bed of a Santa Rosa Fire Department pickup truck and waving to the crowd.
