The Lions had a lot to play for last Friday night as they faced the upstart Sharyland Pioneer Diamondbacks.  Not only was it Parent’s Night for the Lions, but it was also Homecoming.  The team did not disappoint as they jumped out to a 14 – 0 lead at halftime.  They continued the onslaught in the second half and led as much as 28 – 0 versus the Diamondbacks.  Senior wide receiver, Alex Fernandez took advantage of his first start all season and scored two touchdowns for La Feria while junior linebacker, Randy Cantu led the defensive charge with eleven tackles for the game.  Overall, the Lions played well enough to improve their record to 3 -1 for the year.  They also managed to gain some recognition from RGVsports.com by making their top 20 ranking.  Congratulations to the Lions for a great year thus far and for continued success along the way.
