Texas Roadhouse again invited veterans and active members of U.S. military across the country to enjoy a free lunch on Monday, November 11. Every Texas Roadhouse location across the country participated in the free lunch event to honor the men and women of our armed forces.
In celebration of Veterans Day, the public was also invited to enjoy a free download of the song “Pride of America” by Nashville recording artist, Ayla Brown. The song is available for download at www.texasroadhouse.com.

All veterans – including all active, retired or former U.S. military – chose one of 10 entrees, including a 6-ounce sirloin and two made-from-scratch sides plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea/ice tea or coffee during lunch. Proof of service includes military or VA card, or discharge papers.

At the Harlingen Texas Roadhouse location, several hundred local area veterans showed up to take part in the event.

“As veterans of the Vietnam war, we appreciate the annual luncheon at the Texas Roadhouse. The comraderie of all the men and women who served – from WWII, Vietnam, Korea, Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan – is just fantastic,” said John Ftacek, USAF vet (‘66-’70).

Vietnam Army helicopter pilot Mike Preddy also enjoyed the event which gives vets a chance to meet up and exchange anecdotes and compare notes.

“It’s really nice to visit and discuss issues with folks like John and Don, who look at things through veterans’ eyes. The vet’s eyes are more acute than others,” Preddy said.

“I was a USAF motor pool officer in Vietnam in 1965,” said Don Wright, who was seated with Ftacek and Preddy.

“I really think Texas Roadhouse is great to provide this reunion for vets every year. Everyone should eat at Texas Roadhouse!”
