Mesquite House BBQ Sponsors Eating Contest

Santa Rosa’s Mesquite House BBQ hosted their first eating contest on Saturday September 3rd.
The contest consisted of two opponents trying to finish a 22″ ultimate warrior sub in 15 minutes or less. The sandwich included brisket, sausage, nacho cheese and jalapenos.
The two opponents were a Harlingen Cardinal Junior Varsity Football Player (Brendon Herevia) vs. a Santa Rosa Warrior (Brandon Galvan).
Harlingen came out on top with the win this time – Congratulations Brendon Herevia!
The winner will go on to face other valley teams. The winner will be competing against a San Benito Greyhound at the next contest (this past Saturday).
Competitions to be held every weekend.
