Circle of Prayer

More than fifty La Feria community leaders and visitors gathered May 2 to celebrate the City of La Feria’s 4th Annual Prayer Breakfast and National Day of Prayer.

Mayor Steve Brewer welcomed guests and introduced speakers for the event held at Don Beto’s Restaurant.
LFISD TIPS Grant Manager Steven Salinas shared excited news about the affiliation with Lady of the Lake University which has created an extension here in La Feria to offer continuing education classes and basic core classes beginning in the Fall of 2014.
Father Jose Villalon, Parochial Vicar of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in San Juan spoke about growing up in La Feria and learning the values that he carries with him to every church he has served.
The large group continued the Day of Prayer Celebration by gathering in a circle around the city hall flag pole and each individual offered a prayer for the community and the country.
