Library Expansion Continues through Summer
- Updated: May 6, 2013
Construction at the Bailey H. Dunlap Memorial Public Library interrupted service for a few days recently while workers reconfigured the entrance between the original facility and the new two-story expansion. This will add almost 5,000 square feet on the south side of the building and will provide additional space for new computer stations, research capability, tutoring, and provide a community meeting room. Construction is expected to be complete this summer.
The library will be hosting its 13th annual Summer Reading Program this year on Tuesdays and Thursdays for children ages 4 thru 12. There will be story time with guest readers, arts & crafts, games, prizes and much more.
Hours at the library, located at 100 S. Main Street, are Monday, Wednesday and Friday from noon until 6 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday noon until 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
For more information, call the library at 797-1242.
