The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs through 10 p.m. Feel free to dress in your Western attire as this year’s theme is Honky Tonk Hoedown featuring Ms. Lesling Blasing as entertainment.
Tickets are $50 each and include a buffet dinner, silent auction, best boot contest, and more. Tickets can be purchased on the Island at Island Dog Wash, Dee-Dee’s Boutique, and Rescue Me Resale or by calling (956) 433-7754.
Friends of Animal Rescue operates the South Padre Island Recovery Center and Shelter. The group is responsible for the Island’s homeless and lost animals. The group has cared for more than 300 animals since October 2012. The group also works with kill shelters to save the lives of animals through their foster program. Friends of Animal Rescue provides vetting for all animals in their care. This includes spay/neuters, vaccines, heart worm testing and treatment. The Recovery Center is not only for dogs and cats but also wildlife such as birds, opossums, and raccoons.
