- Updated: August 16, 2013
By Coach Jaime Acuna
The La Feria Lions football team opened up Two-A-Days on Monday, August 5 with nearly 140 total young men in attendance. Several of these young men spent the majority of their summer working out at the weight room and showing up for the La Feria strength and conditioning program that was held these last couple of weeks.
The varsity team currently consists of 52 football players. With several returning starters on the offensive side of the ball and a new defense, the Lions are excited and poised for the upcoming season. The first couple of days of practice have gone well for the Lions, the boys are learning the new systems that have been implemented by the coaches and have shown a true hunger to advance deep into the playoffs. The 2013 Lions have a strong senior nucleus along with some new young talent that have shown some sparks. All in all, the upcoming season will be both exciting and memorable for everyone in the La Feria community. In just a few weeks, Lion Stadium will be packed once again with family, friends, and lion supporters to cheer for these young men whom have dedicated themselves to represent La Feria to the fullest.
