La Feria Lions Turkey Shoot
- Updated: November 8, 2013
The La Feria Lions club held it’s second annual “Turkey Shoot” Saturday, October 26th. Each shooter discharged 3 rounds at a target that looked like a turkey at 25 yards, another 3 rounds at 40 yards and finally 3 rounds at 50 yards. The bulls eye was worth 50 points and the outer ring was worth 10 points.
That gave a maximum possible of 9 bulls eyes for 450 points.
The winning shooter scored 375 points and won a $75 prize. Second, third and fourth place shooters were each awarded a Thanksgiving Turkey.
As always the proceeds from this event will be used to fund Lions projects in La Feria and the surrounding area. Typical La Feria Lions projects include Eyeglasses for needy school children, the children’s toy give-away at Christmas and the Texas Lions camp.
The La Feria Lions club meets on first and third Tuesday evening at 6:30 at Don Beto’s restaurant.
