LIONETTES ADVANCE TO AREA

The Lionette Volleyball team ended the District 32-3A season as the second seed and faced District 31-3A third seed, Lyford, on Monday night. Both teams started the match on a nervous note by missing serves. Lyford won this first set 25-18 with their offense in sync. The Lionettes adjusted on defense and battled back , dominating the next two sets with scores of 25-12 and 25-10. During the fourth set the Lionettes squandered a 24-19 lead, but held tough to win 26-24; thus winning the match 3 sets to 1. The Lionettes move on to Area round and face Devine in Alice on Thursday, November 7 at 6:30.
