The weather was frighteningly cold, but La Feria residents still came out to pick up their finger-licking good Chicken BBQ plate on Saturday, December 7 to support the area Food Bank. The event was organized by the City Events Planning Committee and the food was prepared by the Bass Blvd. Smokers, according to project chairman Commissioner Victor Gonzalez, Jr.
Gonzalez said all the plates were sold realizing a approximate $425 donation for the Food Bank in La Feria.
The committee would like to thank the committee volunteers and the sponsors: All Star Family Dentistry, Ben E. Keith Company, Best Tires, DVS Pharmacy, BBVA Compass Bank, Cricket Store, La Feria News, Los Amigos Restaurant, Maria’s Hair Shop, McDonalds’s, Neighborhood Doctor, State Farm Insurance, Tex-Mex Fiesta Restaurant, and Zavala’s Car Wash.
