The Lionette golf team participated this past weekend in the Brownsville Veterans Golf tournament held at River Bend golf course. The Lionettes competed against teams from Brownsville, Los Fresnos and Harlingen. Celica Quintana led the Lionettes with an 87 and Isabel Prado followed close by with a 92 for the day. This will be the final tournament for the fall before starting their Spring season.
This year there are 18 members on the Lionette golf team, this is one of the largest groups we have ever had said Coach Briones. With the addition of Jr. High golf coming this spring, we expect more participation in the sport. Currently there are 18 boys signed up for High School golf they will begin their season after the holidays.
