La Feria Lions Baseball Set To Start Their 2014 Campaign

The 2014 La Feria Lion Baseball team is excited and ready to begin their season. The varsity team returns 11 members from last year’s core of young talent. Of the 11 returning 6 gained all district honors including Seniors: Mando Garza, Eric Cuervo, and Joey Velasquez. Juniors: Briar Holt, Robby Tamez, and Ozzie Cisneros were also recognized as all district members last season. The coaching staff is looking forward to working with these young men and improving on last years season. Several of the boys have played year round in different leagues around the area and have improved dramatically. This years Junior Varsity team should also be fun to watch as they bring in a very talented Freshmen class of baseball players. The varsity is scheduled to play their first scrimmage on Monday, February 3 at 6 p.m. in La Feria vs. PSJA Southwest.
