- Updated: December 19, 2014
The La Feria Independent School District held its regular meeting on Monday, December 8th. Superintendent Rey Villarreal recognized several students as part of his regular Superintendent Celebrations. The “Superintendent Celebration” is a way to congratulate and recognize the achievements of members of the La Feria School District.

Superintendent Rey Villarreal recognized the La Feria High School girls’ volleyball team for their District Tri-Championship and the students selected to represent La Feria in the All-District Team.

Also recognized were the La Feria High School students that were named as District Champions and Regional Qualifiers for Team Tennis.

Finally, Senior Christine Baker was recognized for being named a Texas High School Aerospace Scholar. The THAS project offers a unique experience for Texas high school students to jump start their future and explore the possibilities of a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics related college major or career.
