La Feria Student Wins Big at Area Spelling Bee

The 27th Annual Rio Grande Valley Spelling Bee was held at South Texas College on Saturday, March 7, 2015. There were 52 contestants from across the Rio Grande Valley. Congratulations to La Feria’s own Tristan Salinas for being named the 2015 Rio Grande Valley Spelling Bee Champion. Tristan will be competing in Washington DC in May at the National Spelling Bee. Tristan is a 7th grade student at W. B. Green Junior High School in the La Feria ISD.
