La Feria Runs Strong at Mission Veterans Track Meet

The La Feria Varsity Boys track team had several strong performances at the Mission Veterans Invitational Track Meet on March 13th.
The team had a good start in the field events with Isaiah Martinez placing 2nd in the triple jump with a mark of 42 feet 11”. Julian Trevino continued the streak with a 2nd place finish in the long jump with a mark of 20 feet. A.J. Torres placed 3rd in the long jump with a 19’ 8” jump.
The Lions represented well in the running events as well. The 4×800 meter relay team placed 5th with a time of 8:29. Team members were Reyes Rodriguez, Gabriel Prado, Vincent Vento, and Diego Trevino. The 4×200 meter relay team also placed 5th. Relay members were Tobias Davis, A.J. Torres, Brandon Perez , and Alfonso Vela. Alfonso Vela also placed 6th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.64. Tobias Davis placed 6th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.77. Omar Mughrabi placed 5th in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.02. Carlos Rodriguez placed 3rd in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:56. The 4X4oo meter relay team capped off the meet with a strong finish and a time of 3:25 relay team members were Joseph Lunn, Carlos Rodriguez, Brandon Perez ,and A.J. Torres.
The team placed 6th in the team totals, performing well in a very competitive field. La Feria also placed several athletes in the RGV Track and Field Mythical Valley best list.
Isaiah Martinez is currently the number three jumper in the triple jump. Carlos Rodriguez is the number three runner in the 800 meter run ,and the 4×400 meter relay is number four of the Valley’s best. The relay team includes Joseph Lunn ,Carlos Rodriguez ,Brando Perez, and A.J. Torres.
