Failed Home Invasion Leads to Arrests
- Updated: October 30, 2015
Road blocks and a dragnet were put in place around the 24000 block of Rabb Road in La Feria on Tuesday, October 20. Law enforcement agents searched diligently for six armed, masked men suspected of a botched home invasion that took place in the early hours of the morning. The men allegedly barged into a home demanding money. Officers found an open vehicle on the property containing a rifle, a handgun and a bulletproof vest. Occupants of the home had been bound before the perpetrators fled on foot.
In the hours that followed local, state and federal law enforcement officers searched the area around Rabb Road, Tio Cano Lake, Clark Road and FM 506. Four suspects were apprehended before the search was finally called off for the remaining two perpetrators.
La Feria schools were on lockdown for the day as officers set up a perimeter at various intersections around the town.
Lucio hopes to ascertain the identity of the final two remaining fugitives as they interrogate the suspects in custody.
