Volunteers build bulletin boards for Dominguez Elementary, donate basic clothing
LA FERIA, Texas – Four La Feria churches recently joined together to serve the students and faculty of Noemi Dominguez Elementary School.
First United Methodist Church, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, First Baptist Church and New Hope Presbyterian Church all collected new shoes, socks and underwear for the needy children of Dominguez Elementary. The items were donated Sept. 19.
That same day, First United Methodist Church and New Hope Presbyterian Church worked together to construct and install 27 bulletin boards at Dominguez Elementary. Many students from the school volunteered their time to help with the bulletin boards.
The Sept. 19 improvement project was made possible thanks to the support of three local businesses: Mid-Valley Golf Cars, John Ftacek State Farm Insurance and Precision Mold & Tool.
This annual service project is part of the Service our Schools program. To learn more about the SOS program or to donate money, items or time, call (956) 797-1393 or 245-5742.
