La Feria Defeats Hidalgo 52-21
by Coach Jaime Acuna
The La Feria Lions have been on quite a roll the last couple of games.
They continued their hot streak by winning their third game in a row 59 – 21 versus the visiting Hidalgo Pirates last Friday night at Lion Stadium.
The win improves the Lion’s record to 5 – 2 overall and more importantly 2 – 0 in district.
The Pirates could not keep up with the high powered, no huddle attack that the Lions brought to the table. In fact, six different Lions had a touchdown in the game.
While the offense if beginning to find their stride, the defense continued to give opposing quarterbacks headaches.
The Lion defense was constantly in the backfield putting pressure on the Pirate quarterback and causing turnovers as well.
The Lions will now travel to Kingsville to face the Brahmas in would could be the district championship game.
The Lions are excited for this opportunity and have been working hard.
