The Industrial Development Corporation of the City of La Feria (LFIDC) sponsored a Revolving Fund Program Workshop to help new business owners get started in their business or help established businesses expand. The meeting was held in the Lone Star room of RAMS Bar-B-Que in La Feria last week.
The business seminar was conducted by Thelma Gonzalez, Consultant for the LFIDC Small Business Loan Program.
Gonzalez explained the multi-faceted program and said, “My job is to guide new entrepreneurs to put it all-together so their business venture will be successful. I also work with a business wanting to come to La Feria, or existing businesses that want to expand and need money.”
Gonzalez explained that the La Feria Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Program is a small business loan program established by the La Feria Industrial Development Corporation with assistance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

It was explained to them that these loans may be used as working capital, or start-up capital for new businesses. They can also be used for construction, repairs, and even renovations on existing properties. For those starting up a new business, the funds can be used for the purchase of property, the purchase of necessary start-up equipment and business expansion.
These seminars are held regularly in La Feria and sponsored by the Industrial Development Corporation.
