15th Annual Operation SMILE Toy Drive Continues Charitable Holiday Tradition
- Updated: January 8, 2016
Santa, the Grinch and the La Feria Police Department teamed up once again to help distribute toys to La Feria children through Operation SMILE.
Operation SMILE is an annual event that collects unwrapped new toys for children less fortunate in the La Feria community. The donation boxes are provided by the police department and set up in businesses and schools throughout the community during the holidays.
The toy donations are then picked up and distributed around the community before Christmas Eve.
Wednesday, Dec. 23, local police officers and firemen dressed as Santa and his helpers drove around La Feria putting the gifts into the hands of children.
Now in it’s 15th year, the annual toy drive collected and distributed a record number of toys to children making Christmas 2015 one to remember.
