La Feria ISD Student Ambassador Program a Success
- Updated: February 29, 2016
This school year has turned out to be a very successful and productive year for the first ever La Feria High School Student Ambassadors. The RGV LEAD Student Ambassador program is a regional level leadership opportunity for students from high schools all over the Valley. This experience allows for students to network with other student leaders from across the Valley as well as giving them the opportunity to function in front of adult audiences.
Some of the activities that this group has participated in include the greeting at the P-16 initiative, assist with training of junior high students at the Workforce Solutions Career Day, assist with the College and Career Expo, interact with the board members of the RGV LEAD committee (Linking Economic and Academic Development), participate in the Youth Leadership Summit, present at the RGV LEAD Conference at South Padre Island, and being selected to represent the Student Ambassador program in a magazine article in the RGVision Magazine issue for January/February.
Along with all of these opportunities, the students created a video on leadership that was selected as one of the top videos. This year’s Student Ambassadors include Christina Goulet, Ashlei Levrier-Howell, Omar Mughrabi, Felipe Contreras, Josue Garcia, and Zabdiel Rothschild. The students are sponsored by Ms. Veronica Torres.
