Despite overcast skies and slightly chilly weather, visitors came out in record numbers to this year’s Fiesta de La Feria held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Main Street (downtown) just south of Business 83.
Activities included a car show featuring antique, classic, and modified cars, an art gallery featuring artwork from local and surounding area schools, a cultural arts center featuring the annual baking competition as well as the annual Little Mr. and Miss Fiesta de La Feria competition for children, a kid’s corner with game booths, face painting, and inflatables.
Food vendors were very popular this year with long lines, some selling out very quickly.

Crowds of people enjoyed the live music from the diverse lineup of musical acts – a highlight of each year’s Fiesta.
Attendance was better than ever this year and the weather remained cool and comfortable despite the dark clouds.
The city’s annual thank you and a list of participants and contest winners can be found on page 7 of this issue. See you again at next year’s Fiesta to be held Feb. 25, 2017.

Mayor Victor Gonzalez, Jr. zips around Fiesta de La Feria in a golf cart, waving to constituents and visiting the various booths and displays.
