Maldonado Sworn in as Mayor

HISTORY IN THE MAKING
Olga H. Maldonado was sworn in as La Feria’s first female mayor during a special meeting of the La Feria City Commission on Monday, May 16, 2016. Commissioner Maldonado, Chief of the Mercedes Police Department, was certified by the council and elected mayor after she was the only candidate to file for the top job.

Also sworn in during the meeting was Eric Hoff for Commission Position 2, Victor Gonzalez, Jr. for Commissioner Position 3, both having run unapposed, as well as Jesse Zuniga, who won the general election for Commission Position 1.
