City of La Feria Celebrates 10th Annual INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The City of La Feria has set the date for the 10th Annual La Feria Independence Day Celebration for Saturday, July 2nd from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m.
This family event, held at the Veteran’s Memorial Park Sports Complex located at 904 Pancho Maples Drive in La Feria, is a patriotic event which recognizes our local military veterans and offers a fun day of food and entertainment for every age. There’s also a veterans-only raffle as well as one for the public and free glow necklaces for the children attending.
The Smokin Heroes’ Bar-B-Q Cook Off, an annual highlight of the event, will be celebrating its sixth year at the event. Jackpots will be held for fajitas, pan de campo and charro beans. For more information call Charlie Villanueva at 245-4252 or email [email protected]
The event will again include inflatables for the kids, a sack race, tug-o-war, water balloon toss and a watermelon eating contest. Food and merchandise vendors will be set up and there will be live music. a fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m. leading up to the conclusion of the event.
