Cesar Diaz Appointed New Police Chief

City Manager, Sunny K. Philip announced Mr. Cesar Rene Diaz has been appointed as the new Police Chief of the City of La Feria Police Department effective July 7, 2016.
Mr. Diaz has served as the elected Constable for Precinct 5, Cameron County since 2001. Prior to that he was with Cameron County Sheriff’s Department for a period of 8 years.
Mr. Diaz comes to the department with a wealth of law enforcement and administrative experience.
A Swearing in Ceremony is scheduled for July 7 followed by a welcome reception for the public to meet the new Chief. Details of the ceremony and reception will be announced at a later date.
Current Police Chief Donato Garcia is retiring after 27 years of service to the La Feria Police Department, serving as Chief since 2001.
