It is a proud moment for Santa Rosa High School (SRHS) as their Student Council Organization (STUCO) prepares to start off the holidays with a warmly welcome by visiting the Weslaco Nursing and Rehabilitation center that is located in Weslaco, Texas.
STUCO’s president, Angelique Hernandez, visited the nursing home last month and after the visit she felt the need to give back to the center. Hernandez decided to bring up the idea of “Give a Blanket, Share the Warmth” at SRHS.
Through this donation, people had to donate a winter fleece blanket; The goal was to collect 120 of them. Staff, administration, community, and students have contributed greatly to this wonderful cause.
With their outstanding support, STUCO was able to surpass the goal. STUCO plans to personally deliver the winter fleece blankets and sing Christmas carols at the center on December 15, 2016 at 5:30 p.m.
