La Feria’s South Texas Style Christmas
- Updated: December 23, 2016
Despite the cold and drizzly weather, La Feria residents faithfully gathered once again on the evening of Saturday, December 10th, for this year’s Annual City of La Feria Lighted Parade.
The theme for this year’s parade was “A South Texas Style Christmas” and many of the participants decorated themselves and the floats with reminders of what Christmas is like in South Texas, like the Sanchez Elementary’s float featuring Santa hanging out on the beach or first place winners in both the Float and Walking divisions Dominguez Elementary’s Chalupa-inspired float and marchers.
As is tradition, the community enjoyed the annual Winter Festival immediately after the parade. The Festival was held at Lions Stadium with food, rides, games and music.
