Kenwood RV Park Welcomes Winter Visitors
- Updated: January 20, 2017
New Director Promises More Activities
La Feria’s Kenwood RV Park has been a long-time winter haven for shivering tourists from up North, and, this year, is under new management. The new park manager met with LA FERIA NEWS to talk about the exciting activities planned for Winter Texan residents and other events open to the public.
Donna Levy is the new Park Activities Director. This energetic young lady explained that Kenwood RV Park is now part of RHP Mobile Home Properties with their national headquarters based in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
The change of ownership was finalized in October 2015. She said the parent company owns over 200 mobile home parks in 26 states. They also own Snow-to-Sun RV Park in Weslaco and Casa del Valle RV Park in Alamo, Texas.
She added, “These three Valley Parks are the only RV Parks owned by RHP Properties–the rest are mobile home parks.”
Now that we know the new owners, it’s time to see what Activities Director Levy has in mind for their residents this year.
“We have a lot of exciting activities and innovations our people will love, “she said. “We have just added to our great indoor pool, a wonderful billiards room, a library, a fitness room, shuffleboard court and a friendship room–all these facilities are available to our registered-guests.”
Then she outlined events that local citizens can enjoy and participate in: “Our weekly Bluegrass jam sessions on Tuesdays at 1:30 pm are drawing people from all over the Valley,” she said. “You can come as you are, settle down and tap your foot, or bring your own acoustic musical instrument and join in. This has become a very popular event. Everyone has a great time.”
“We have Arts and Craft shows every first Tuesday from 8:00-Noon of each month where the public is invited,” she continued. “On Thursday at 9:00 a.m. any local lady who loves quilting is welcome to join the Care and Share Quilting group. They donate 100s of quilts each year to local deserving families and organizations.”
The public is also invited to the Helen Russell Entertainment Show (no charge), the Wade Landry Show (no charge), the Mario Rosales Show ($7.00 charge) and The Gold Wing Express Show ($7.00 charge). You can call Activity Director Donna Levy for dates and times. Telephone number is 956 797 1851 or 956 493 1871 cell.
“Y’all come,” she said.
