Commission Votes to Expand Investigation, Lawsuit Against Former City Manager

Commissioners voted unanimously to expand the lawsuit against former City Manager Sunny Philip during their last meeting on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. The city commission will expand its investigation of $3 million in certificates of obligation for city projects that are presently still unaccounted for. The expanded investigation will include several non-profit organizations linked to Mr. Philip, including South Texas Collaborative, for Housing Development and the La Feria Industrial Development Corporation. The La Feria City Commission will hold its next meeting on Tuesday night, April 25, 2017, at 6:30 p.m. in the city commission meeting room located at 115 E. Commercial Avenue. The public is encouraged to attend.
