11th Annual La Feria Independence Day Celebration Announced

Annual City Event Scheduled for Saturday, July 1, 2017
The City of La Feria has announced the date for the 11th Annual La Feria Independence Day Celebration. The Celebration will take place this year on Saturday, July 1st, from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Open to all ages, the event will once again be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Park Sports Complex located at 904 Pancho Maples Drive in La Feria. This family-friendly event is a patriotic celebration which also recognizes our local military veterans and offers a fun day of food and entertainment for everyone. There’s will once again be a veterans-only raffle. The Veteran’s Memorial Committee will be present taking donations. There will be free glow necklaces for the children attending.
LFHS Choir member Liana Rekward has been chosen to sing the national anthem and local bands Inevitable and Pelican West are scheduled to perform.
The event will once again include many events and activities for the kids, including water slides, a bounce house, a sack race, tug-o-war and a watermelon eating contest sponsored by La Feria Chamber of Commerce.
Food and merchandise vendors will be set up around the park as well.
The event culminates in a fireworks display which will begin at 9:30 p.m.
