The La Feria ISD School Board has appointed an interim superintendent after receiving a letter of resignation from Superintendent Raymundo “Rey” Villarreal.
At a special meeting held on Wednesday, June 28, the school board accepted Villarreal’s resignation letter and appointed Dr. Miriam Guerra as the interim superintendent for the district.
Before adjourning, board members accepted three additional resignations and extended three probationary contracts.
Board members also agreed on the use of an educational consulting firm to conduct a search for a new superintendent.
The selection of a firm will be discussed at the next school board meeting.
