The La Feria Volunteer Fire Department held a “Fill the Boot” campaign ono Saturday, July 22, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in La Feria.
The funds raised are to provide new gear and equipment for the firefighters.
“Let me start by expressing our greatest gratitude to the citizens of The City of La Feria. We had a great turn out and everyone was very generous. It was these generous citizens that helped us reach the amount of approximately $2000!,” said Robert Guerra, Assistant Fire Chief and EMS Administrator for La Feria Fire & Rescue.

The La Feria Volunteer Fire Department braved the heat for five hours to raise funds for much needed equipment.
Guerra spoke to La Feria News in the stead of Fire Chief David Phinney and Asst. Fire Chief Ron Cathey, both of whom were out of town for training at press time.
“We appreciate the hard work of our fellow firefighters as they braved many hours on a very hot day to get the job done.” Guerra went on to say.
The La Feria Volunteer Fire Department handles difficult situations such as fires, health emergencies, vehicle accidents, and even dangerous pest mediation.
They work tirelessly because they love and care about the community in which they serve and appreciate the support shown on that weekend.
