Chamber of Commerce Officially Welcomes Smokin’ TJ’s Bar and Grill With Ribbon Cutting
- Updated: September 19, 2017
by Victor Moreno/LFN
The La Feria Chamber of Commerce conducted a ribbon cutting ceremony officially welcoming Smokin’ TJ’s Bar and Grill to the La Feria business community on Saturday, September 2, 2017.
The ceremony kicked off shortly after 10:45 a.m. with an invocation by Chamber President Sunny K. Phillip.
A nice crowd gathered to celebrate the culmination of hard work and perseverance of Charles Johnson (owner) and his staff. After cutting the ribbon Charles offered words of commendation for the hard work by all involved to make the ceremony and the opening of his business a success.
Charles brings to La Feria, from his home state of Alabama, the experience and knowledge to cook the best barbecue around.
“That’s the beginning, but of course there are other keys to a great barbecue operation – if you want to bring out the right taste so customers will come back over and over again.” said Charles in a comment to the Chamber.
“If it ain’t smokin’ it ain’t barbecue, that’s our slogan” added Charles on Saturday.
During the ceremony attendees were treated to delicious BBQ chicken plates for only $4 and free hamburgers for kids under 10.
Live music was provided by George Masso.
Smokin’ TJ’s also houses a Mexican style buffet and two pool tables and plenty of TV screens to catch your favorite games.
Smokin’ TJ’s Bar and Grill is located at 900 S. Main St. and open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and closed Sunday.
