La Feria Volunteer Fire Department Receives Equipment Donation from Texas A&M Forestry Service

Texas A&M Forestry Service, in Lufkin, Texas generously donated a cache of used equipment to the La Feria Volunteer Fire Department
The donation came through the work and efforts of Fire Chief David Phinney and Assistant Fire Chiefs Ron Cathey and Guerra.
LFVFD received several used Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA), which include harnesses, bottles and masks as well as used bunker pants, bunker jackets, boots, helmets, gloves and various hoses.
“We appreciate this donation from The Texas A&M Forestry Service and applaud their efforts in helping small departments, like ours, that are growing, “ said Assistant Fire Chief and EMS Administartor Robert Guerra said.
“While this equipment is used, it will help bridge the gap to outfit our growing department until we are able to purchase new equipment.”
The donated equipment has a estimated value of approximately $35,000 – $40,000.
