by Coach Jaime Acuna
The La Feria Lions got back on track Friday night in Kingsville with a big win on the road to even up their district record to 1 – 1.
The Lions got on the board early when quarterback Dorian Hernandez found wide receiver Julian Trevino on a 80 yard touchdown pass to give the Lions a 7 – 0 lead.
Kingsville then scored shortly after to cut the Lion lead to 7 – 6. The Lions would go into halftime leading 21 – 12. The second half is when things began to click for La Feria as the offense starting moving the ball easily down the field and the Lion defense continued to punish the Brahmas.
La Feria racked up 413 total yards of offense, 253 of the yards came on the ground with their rushing attack. The defense did their part by forcing 3 turnovers, 2 were interceptions.
All in all, the Lions played a good all around game to get the win. They will now host the Hidalgo Pirates at home on Friday, October 27 at Lion Stadium.
