City of La Feria Announces Winners of Lighted Christmas Parade and Annual Christmas Decorating Contests

The holidays are a special time in the City of La Feria. Each year residents and business people decorate their homes and storefronts in an effort to bring the spirit of the season to the town. Visitors are encouraged to drive around the city to see the seasonal displays that have been created for everyone’s enjoyment.

The La Feria Events Committee and the City of La Feria sponsor several contests at this time of the year, including the Home & Yard Decorating Contest and the Winter Visitor Park Decorating Contest as well as a contest for the best large painted Christmas cards created by the students of La Feria School District, usually on display at the City of La Feria Municipal Complex along Business 83. The Business Window Decorating Contest, sponsored by the La Feria Chamber of Commerce, is also held during this time.

This year’s winners were announced at the Winter Festival that immediately follows the Annual Lighted Christmas Parade, along with announcing the winners of the Lighted Parade itself. Floats registered with the city were competing for cash prizes in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places (1st Place $300, 2nd Place $200, 3rd Place $100)as well as trophies awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place walkers/marchers.

This year’s parade them is “An Emoji Christmas”.

Judging the Lighted Parade this year were the cast of VACACIONES DE TERROR – Manelly Zepeda, Michael Velazquez, Fernanda Alonzo, Judith Luna and Claire Bell.

The La Feria Chamber of Commerce announced JC Wings Co. as the the winner of the Business Window Decorating Contest this year.
