La Feria’s newest business venture is bringing health and motivation to the city. Simply Fit Wellness Center is located at 205 W. Oleander and specializes in shakes and nutrition as well as motivating anyone and everyone to get moving and get healthy.
“We just started this business. Our goals are to have more people achieve a happier and healthier lifestyle and we want to help the community be active,” said owner Tanya Rodriguez.
About a month ago, Rodriguez and two colleagues began Simply Fit with the intention to provide La Feria with a positive atmosphere for those interested in health and fitness. Aside from shakes, Simply Fit also provides an exercise course in the evenings known as Fit Camp. From 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, anyone can walk in to the facility and participate in the work outs.
Along the interior walls of the building are posters meant to inspire and motivate customers to get active. One of Rodriguez’s goals is to boost up the confidence of her customers, “All that we want to do is help-help everyone achieve a transformation. We try to motivate everybody because everybody has an opportunity for a transformation,” began Rodriguez.
While Simply Fit caters to both men and women, Rodriguez says that a majority of her customers are women. Therefore, it is important for her and her colleagues to ensure that the women that enter Simply Fit are met with a positive, judgment-free area where they can focus on themselves.
“We try to help women out because it is a little bit harder for that empowerment and motivation. So, what we teach here is that you can do it and nobody is going to judge you, go out there and care less about what people say. You do you and that’s it.”
