The city’s first used cars and trucks lot is up and running and its owners said they want to give people the opportunity to buy vehicles right here in La Feria.
Called Mid Valley Motors, the business opened last November and held a ribbon cutting Saturday, April 14, It was hosted by La Feria Chamber of Commerce.
“This is the only used cars lot in town,” Omar Galvan, one of its owners, said. “We have an inventory of about 35 cars, SUVs and trucks and offer financing.”
Galvan’s brother, Saul, co-owns the business.
Mid Valley Motors is located between FM 409 and 421 on West Expressway 83.
The event was held simultaneously with another business the Galans own – Mid Valley Trailer Sales.
The trailer lot first opened seven years ago but it was not until this month the Galvans and the chamber held the brief ceremony.
“We started off doing well. We have customers from several Rio Grande Valley cities,” Galvan said. “We would like to see more people from La Feria, though.”
Greg Purcell, the chamber’s vice president, welcomed the two businesses.
“I think it’s great to have them here,” he said. “This is the only used cars lot in La Feria. We wish them well.”
Purcell said the chamber always strives to bring more businesses to La Feria.
He said having a used cars lot and trailer sales is going to serve a niche.
Purcell said the Galvans have invested a good amount of money into the community.
He said they own a car wash and an insulation business.
The ribbon cutting was held with the participation of the Galvan family, friends and chamber representatives.
