Early Voting for November Midterm Election Starts Oct. 22

Early voting for the Nov. 6 election begins Oct. 22 and will run through Nov 2.

Voters will have 11 days to cast their ballot for the candidates of their choice.

Although several races of significant importance are at stake this November, including the Cameron County Judge seat held by Eddie Trevino, a Democrat, who faces Carlos Cascos, a Republican, La Feria voters will elect a new city council member and four members to the local school district board of trustees.

Alma Martinez Botello is running against Devin Rey Martinez. They are running for the unexpired term left by Eric Hoff who resigned from his seat in Place 2.

In the school district races: Lisa Ayala Montalvo, an incumbent, faces Anna Aleman in Place 4; Javier Laredo, also an incumbent, is being challenged by Gloria Casas and Maria Rincon in Place 5; Katie Johnson, who is also seeking re-election, is being opposed by Alfonso Rodriguez for the seat in Place 6 and Juan “Johnny” Briones, another incumbent, is squaring off against Victor Gonzalez in Place 7.

The polls will open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, through Friday, Oct. 26 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.

Also, the polls will open from 9 a.m.; to 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29 through Wednesday, Oct. 31 and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 1 and Friday, Nov. 2.

Early voting will be at La Feria City Hall at 115 Commercial Ave.
