LA FERIA – The Lions varsity football team defeated the Port Isabel Tarpons 21-14 on Friday, September 21.
The game was tied 14-14 with less than five minutes to go in the game when Port Isabel fumbled the ball in their own territory and was recovered by La Feria.
This led to a late score by Lions tailback Avishai Dickerson to seal the homecoming victory.
The Lions face Brownsville Rivera on September 28th at Sams Stadium in Brownsville where recently a new digital scoreboard was installed.
Following the Rivera game will be a reunited rivalry game against Rio Hondo followed by the first game of district against the Kingsville King Brahmas.
The Lions hope to keep their undefeated season alive and win another district championship.
