LA FERIA – “We’re going to state!” This phrase has been very popular at La Feria High School.
The La Feria boys and girls cross country teams are headed to the state cross country meet. The level of success the program has brought to La Feria hasn’t surprised much, as the cross-country teams have sent runners to state before.
For the Lions, Anthony Cepeda (finished 16th) and Curtis Rodriguez (finished 28th) led the charge for at the 32-4A regional meet.
For the Lionettes, Dariana Vasquez was crowned the regional champion, followed by Marina Villanueva placing 15th, Miranda Torres in 35th, Katrina Villarreal in 37th, and Analiza Rodriguez in 44th.
The girls team finished second while the boys finished fourth, and both teams will compete in Round Rock, Texas, on November 3rd at the state meet.
