ZAPATA – In the past four years, the Zapata Hawks have always been trouble to the La Feria Lions.
La Feria Lions came out firing on all cylinders and dominated the Zapata Hawks 33-14 on Friday, October 19th.
This comes a week after throttling Kingsville King 45-14 in the 32-4A division one district opener on Friday, October 12th.
The Lions improve their record to 6-1 (2-0 in district) with their only loss in the non-district finales against rival Rio Hondo.
The Lions welcome the Grulla Gators next and travel to Hidalgo to play to Pirates in the final game of the season.
The Lions are hoping to seal back-to-back district championships as well as make a long postseason run.
